Hospital Staff

We have grown from a handful of people to a large family here!  Read below to get to know our family a little better.  We want to welcome you and have you feel comfortable in our "home!"
Diane McCain - Office Manager
A veteran at AHW, Diane keeps her finger on the pulse of the business as our office manager.  She has been here since the doors of AHW opened  in1997 and is integral to day to day operation of the business.  Having many critters including Chip, a Golden Retriever and Rose, a Welsh Corgi, both of which have passed their Canine Good Citizenship Test. She also has horses, birds, and cats and keeps busy outside of her time at AHW with their care and other animal related activities.

Marya Johnson - Hospital Manager
Marya has been with AHW since 2004.  She attended Harcum College and New Bolton Center, where her special veterinary interests include equine reproduction. She likes to pass her time boating and fly fishing with her son Sam and daughter Grayson, when she's not caring for the critters here.  Her 25 years in the veterinary field have taught her many lessons on efficiency, great customer service and the ability to troubleshoot to help the doctors get through busy days. Marya is responsible for staff training and education as well as day to day hospital management.

Annette "Sis" Tobin - Receptionist
"Sis" is another one of our veterans here at AHW.  She has been involved in the veterinary field for over 30 years, of which, 15 of them have been with AHW.  She also lives in a house full of animals, in which she has 4 dogs, 6 cats, 1 horse, a husband and 2 sons!! An avid outdoorswomen, she enjoys hunting, fishing and has raised her sons through the 4-H program with dairy cattle.

DeEtte Hering - Receptionist
DeEtte,yet another AHW veteran, has been with us since 1999.  A well-known resident of Waterford, many will notice her familiar, smiling face at the front desk when you visit us.  She likes to spend her time away from AHW kayaking, bird watching, and carving or woodburning.  In addition to her 4 cats, her 2 sons keep her hoppin!

Ann Hazlett - Receptionist
If you ever need to brighten your day, Ann is here to help you at the front desk.  Her compassion for animals and people keeps her in tune with patients and their owners needs.  She has been with us for since 2007, and enjoys the caring, family oriented atmosphere at AHW.  She is a busy mother of 4 (3 boys and 1 girl) and numerous critters and still finds time for her interests in camping, horseback riding, photography and the occasional poker game!

Caitie Klan - Veterinary Technician
Caitie has been a technician at our office for since 2004, and has fun fulfilling that position.  She graduated from Lake Erie College with a major in Equine Studies in 2004 and has been here ever since.  Caitie has 2 cats "Mr. Orange" and "Mr. Gray", new puppy "Brick", and her horse "Disco".  She is an obssessive fan of Penn State Football and likes to play some blackjack here and there.  Also, she works as a technician at the Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center on a part time basis.


Holly Hunter - Veterinary Assistant
Holly is one of our younger employees, yet has been with us since 2005!  Currently a student at Edinboro University, majoring in medical technology, she enjoys working with her 2 dogs, cat and horse, as well as the farm animals that her family raises.  Outside of school and work, her special interests include boating, going to concerts and is an avid Penn State Football fan!!  At AHW, Holly likes the home-town feel and the fact that everyone that she works with here has a true love for animals.


Kayla Brocious - Veterinary Assistant

     Kayla is one our newest employees-she joined our team last June and we could not be happier!  She is also a student at Edinboro University majoring in medical technology.  She stays busy outside 4-wheeling, snowboarding and sledding.  Her  siberian husky Maleah really enjoys the sledding too! Kayla also has another dog and a cat at home.  And, when not occupied by all of these things, Kayla manages to find time rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Yes, Kayla likes winter--guess she's in the right spot!
